Men's pachuco huarache sandals in genuine tan leather (light brown), handmade in Jalisco, Mexico. The toe is open: your toes show under a leather band with a grid of small perforations, and behind it thin handwoven leather straps fan toward a pointed center panel.

An adjustable ankle strap with a metal buckle holds the heel: it starts at the heel counter, runs up a vertical center piece joined to the vamp and fastens on the outer side through a row of holes; the buckle is silver-tone metal and the heel counter is lined in raw natural leather. With the toe open, the sandal breathes at the front and through the gaps in the weave.

What sets this pair apart is how it is built. Each strap is cut narrow and woven by hand, and the dyed leather has a glossy finish rather than matte. The insole is undyed natural vaqueta leather, and all around its edge you can see the heads of the nails: the sole is nailed, not stitched, with a thin strip of natural leather showing at the edge. Under it sits a sole cut from a recycled tire, black rubber with a lug tread, nailed to the leather insole, slip-resistant and made for hard wear.

Tan leather is a warm light brown that works with denim, linen, shorts or a guayabera: men's huarache sandals with tire soles that suit warm weather, for the city or a Saturday out, not beachwear.

These are authentic Mexican huarache sandals in the classic pachuco style, the Mexican huaraches for men you may also see listed as pachuco huaraches, Mexican sandals with tire soles, brown leather huaraches or open toe huaraches for men. Every pair is handmade in Jalisco and ships from Mexico.

Size guide (US โ†’ cm)
US 7 โ€“ 25 cm
US 8 โ€“ 26 cm
US 9 โ€“ 27 cm
US 10 โ€“ 28 cm
US 11 โ€“ 29 cm
US 12 โ€“ 30 cm

US sizes 7 to 12 (MX 25 to 30). Whole sizes only: if you wear a half size, size down. If you are between sizes, take the smaller one: the leather usually gives about half a size over the first weeks of wear. If your measurement lands exactly on a size, order your usual size and do not size down. Measure your foot in centimeters and compare it with the chart; the step-by-step is in the size guide.

Order your US size; the number stamped on the insole is the Mexican size without the leading 2: a US 10 arrives marked "8", meaning MX 28.
